Oren (Ed.), The Hyksos, 14; Meurer, in: Arnst / Hafemann / Lohwasser (Hgg.), Begegnungen, 329), oder als eine sḏm=f-Form mit neuägytischem Suffixpronomen 3.Pl., also ḏi̯=w st; so Kroeber, Neuägyptizismen, 38: "sie machten sich zu Dienern" (siehe auch Gardiner, EG, xxxiii Add. zu S. 228 § 304.1 mit diesem Beleg; er las bereits =w: "they placed themselves at the service of the Asiatics"). Murnane, in: JNES 37, 1978, 278 hat Partizip: "those who caused it (st = tꜣ Km.t) to serve the Asiatics".
- btꜣ: Entweder interpretiert als "überrennen" (von "laufen; Wb. 1, 484.15; 〈 bṯ "laufen, herbeieilen"; Wb. 1, 485.6-8; so Habachi, Second Stela, 38 mit Anm. k; Kaplony-Heckel, Kriegszug, 531; Brein, in: Pharaonen und Fremde, 274; Hofmann, Königsnovelle, 118), oder als "im Stich lassen" (〈 bṯ; Wb. 1, 485.9-10; im TLA beide Lemmata zu einem zusammengefasst; so Smith / Smith, Texts, 61; Redford, in: E. - Die Übersetzung des Satzes richtet sich hier nach Redford, in: E. Oren (Ed.), The Hyksos, 14: "...; they who had allowed themselves to hearken to the call of the Asiatics, had forsaken Egypt, their mistress." Andere Übersetzungen weichen davon ab, je nachdem, wie man ḏi̯.w und btꜣ (bzw. die Verbalform btꜣ.n=sn) beurteilt und es mit dem vorangehenden Satz verknüpft, z.B.: Habachi, a.a.O.: "(because of the damage they did in Egypt) - they, who caused them to serve the Asiatics when they overran Egypt, their mistress."; Smith / Smith, Texts, 61: "(... the damage which they have done ..., who set themselves to hearken unto the summones of the Alamu, after they had betrayed Egypt, ..."; Kaplony-Heckel, Kriegszug, 531: "(denn) sie gaben sich zur Fronarbeit [!] an die Aamu weg, nachdem diese [=die Asiaten; M.B.] ihre Herrin Ägypten überrannt hatten." (nach diesem Muster Hofmann, Königsnovelle, 118); Simpson, Literature, 349: "... for they set themselves to hearken to the summons of the Asiatic, having betrayed Egypt, their mistress."; Haran, Nationalism, 265 übersetzt ganz anders als üblich: "as they [=die Asiaten] place themselves in their saying [ḥr] (to the Egyptians): Serve the Asiatics, because they invaded Egypt, their lady."
