  • - jḥ.pl: The text seems to use the penis sign (D 52) by default with cattle signs, cf. the following wꜥ.ty, "goat", with D52+E8 as classifiers. Da beide Stellen ohne Phonogramme geschrieben sind, ist die Lesung als jḥ bzw. kꜣ unsicher. Gardiner übersetzt: "I acquired cattle and got oxen (?)", Lichtheim hat: "I acquired cattle, I raised oxen".
    - sḫpr.n=j sšm=j m wꜥ.tj=j: Lichtheim (1988, 69) translates "I developed my business in goats" (ebenso Gardiner), ignoring the A1 sign that follows the word wꜥ.tj "goat". In our rendition, the sentence means that Mentuhotpe developed his livelihood based on his own property.
