Commentaires

  • - ḫr: Lichtheim, Literature, 36 und Blumenthal, in: Urkunden … Übersetzung, 173 übersetzen ḫr als Substantiv: „The foes were tottering before her might.“ (Lichtheim); „Der Feind schlottert vor ihrer Macht.“ (Blumenthal).
    - mss: Hapax legomenon. Die Bedeutung ergibt sich ungefähr anhand des Determinativs „zitternder Mann“ (?) und des Kontextes (in dieser Bedeutung auch in Wb 2, 149.6; FCD 118 vermerkt).
    - Die Übersetzungen des Passus ḫr mss n sḫm.w=s (und von mss im Speziellen) sind aber insgesamt sehr vielseitig. Andere Übersetzungen in Auswahl: Budge, History, 52: „… and it hath overthrown him that came [mss] within the reach of his power.“ Erman, Literatur, 320: „gefallen und demütig (?) [mss] vor ihrer Macht.“. Tresson, in: Revue Biblique 47, 1938, 548 hat: „… tous étant renversés et trépignant [mss] sous le effet de ta puissance.“. Maspero, Du genre épistolaire, 87 übersetzt: „…, détruisant leurs enfants par son pouvoir.“, mit mss als „Kinder“; so auch bei Lange/Hirmer, Ägypten, 87: „ … und (auch) der Nachwuchs ihrer Macht verfallen ist.“. Ähnlich Breasted, Records, 264: „Fallen are the children of their mighty ones.“; so auch Lalouettes, Textes sacrés, 102, In der Übersetzung von Bresciani, Letteratura et poesia, 244 fehlt dieser Passus!
