  • Grdseloff, in: ASAE 45, 1946, 116-117 Anm. d mit Nachbesprechung S. 118-120 vertrat eine Lesung hsdq, weil er das Zeichen D37, das in syllabischen Schreibungen oft für m steht, als d auffasste, und es mit dem Wort hstk (WCN 99350; Wb 2, 503.1; Hoch, Semitic Words, Nr. 302) in pAnastasi I 24,4, das dort eine schlechte Art des Gehens bezeichnet, zusammenbrachte; er übersetzte „grand galop“. In der Mehrheit wird aber die Lesung hsmq und dessen Deutung eines semitischen Lehnverbs in Form des Infinitivs des Kausativstammes (d.h. h:šmg/h:smg) bevorzugt, die Drioton, in: ASAE 45, 1946, 62-64 vorgeschlagen und S. 104-106 gegen Grdseloff verteidigt hat. Vgl. auch die Diskussion bei Hoch, Semitic Words, Nr. 301, der es u.a. mit Akkadisch šagāmu „to roar, to rage“ und Bibl.-Hebr. gæšæm „rainstorm“ verbindet.

  • Diese Korrektur hat Edel, in: ZDPV 69, 1953, 112 Anm. Z.5 klargestellt; die Rekonstruktion von Grdseloff, in: ASEA 45, 1946, 116 Anm. b zu [ym] n jrb.t „[lac] du Rhinoceros“ ist danach zu streichen; auch für Grdseloffs Anschlussergänzung [wḏꜣ ḥr ḥtr] ist nach Edel nicht genug Platz vorhanden gewesen.

  • Diese Konjektur nach Beylage, Stelentexte, 108, dort aber nicht kommentiert, obwohl das Schilfblatt (M17) nicht vorhanden ist und das t (X1) nur ganz klein zwischen dem s (S29) und dem ḏꜣ (U28) positioniert worden ist.
