  • sḏ.tj or smd.t: I suggest, following discussion with Jordan Miller, sḏty, “foster child” here, despite the determinatives of a seated man and woman rather than the more usual child. What Kitchen renders as a diagonal stroke below t may be the oar or tooth. This reading is appropriate to context, especially given the emphasis on fatherhood throughout this text and the Munich statue texts. However, the orthography is more conventional for smd.t, “staff, personnel”, and this may be the better reading (with Frood, Biographical texts from Ramessid Egypt, 2007, 45; Dalino, Les grands prêtres d'Égypte à l'époque ramesside, 2021, II, 27).
