  • - wꜥb.t m štꜣ ꜣḫ.t: As discussed by Osing (Das Grab des Nefersecheru, 1992, 50 n. s), the restoration of both wꜥbt and ꜣḫt are not certain. wꜥbt would fit the rough traces given in Wilbour’s copy text (Osing, Das Grab des Nefersecheru, 1992, 45) and Osing restores ꜣḫt on the basis of a fragment found in the tomb shaft; Wilbour read wḫrt, ‘dockyard, workshop’ here. Osing’s restorations (Das Grab des Nefersecheru, 1992, 46) fit the context and he renders this verse: ‘Ich wurde eingeführt in die Fleischküche (?) als Geheimnis des (kgl.) Schlachthauses’. This is further supported by the title ‘royal scribe of the meal for the king’ (sẖ-nswt-ꜥbw-rʾ-nswt) to which Nefersekheru is appointed. Butchery was laden with ritual associations (e.g. Eyre, The Cannibal Hymn, Liverpool 2002), so the motif of initiation may be appropriate to this context.
