R. Enmarch, forthcoming, A World Upturned: The Ancient Egyptian Dialogue of Ipuwer and the Lord of All. To appear in the British Academy Postdoctoral Monograph Series: "The rare and probably archaising verb njw (Wb. II, 201.4; Deines and Westendorf 1961: 445; Peasant B1 141) is parallel to ḫsr in one example (Spell 335: CT IV, 208c-d), and so probably means approximately 'repel, reject'. This is the only known intransitive example, perhaps a nominal form with m before the direct object (as with qnqn in 8.10, 8.12)."
Alternativvorschlag J.F. Quack mit einer anderen Satztrennung und einem Wechselsatz: swr=tw jm=f nyw=tw m rmṯ: "when one drinks of it, one is repelled by men" (E-Mail Quack 09.06.2013).
