  • pꜣ šmꜣm.y BꜢ⸢st.t⸣: Es ist schwierig den Artikel Singular Maskulinum an dieser Stelle zu erklären. Edwards (HPBM 4, Bd. 1, 89 [8]) denkt an die Krankheit šmꜣ.y (Wb 4, 471.7–8; MedWb 851; Lemma-ID 154610), doch aufgrund der Verbindung zu Bastet handelt es sich sicherlich um die šmꜣ.y-Wanderdämonen (LGG VII, 78; Lemma-ID 881120), die in den Oracular Amuletic Decrees mit Bastet assoziiert werden können, s. pNew York MMA 10.53 (NY), Rto. 32–35. Diese Wesen werden in den Oracular Amuletic Decrees sowohl im Singular als auch im Plural genannt, im Singular zumeist in dem Ausdruck ꜥ.w nb n.j šmꜣ.w „jegliche Aktion eines Wanderdämons“. Gemeinhin treten diese unheilbringenden Entitäten aber immer als Gruppe auf, s. Lucarelli, Demons, in: UEE 2010, 3 (http://digital2.library.ucla.edu/viewItem.do?ark=21198/zz0025fks3, 13.09.2023); dies., in: Broekman/Demarée/Kaper, Libyan Period, 237–238. Und so ist in Verbindung mit der Göttin Bastet im Papyrus NY (s.o.) auch ausdrücklich der Plural verwendet. Der Schreiber dürfte im vorliegenden Fall also den Begriff als Kollektivum aufgefasst haben.
