Comment on this place: Über Herkunft und Erwerbungsvorgang ist nichts bekannt; siehe Fischer-Elfert, Magika Hieratika, 146. Die im Text genannten Personennamen weisen jedoch laut Fischer-Elfert auf Elephantine hin, so dass der Papyrus möglicherweise aus dem Konvolut der von O. Rubensohn und F. Zucker zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts auf Elephantine gefundenen Papyri gehört.

Achtung: Es herrscht Konfusion bei den Inventarnummern in der Literatur: Bei Kaplony-Heckel trägt das erste Fragment die Inv.-Nr. 15784a, das zweite die Nummer 15784b; bei Fischer-Elfert hat das erste Fragment anscheinend die Nummer 15784a+b, das zweite die Nummer 10469! In seiner Überschrift zu dem Text deutet er aber an, dass 10469 nur eine ältere Nummer von 15784b sein mag. So wurde es hier gehandhabt! Laut M. Krutzsch handelt es sich um eine Doppelinventarisierung und treffen sowohl die Nummer P. 17584a+b als auch P. 10469 zu (Email an Fischer-Elfert vom 02.02.2022).

- Nach Fischer-Elfert, Magika Hieratika, 147 weisen die Paläographie und der onomastische Befund auf die Ptolemäerzeit hin. Kaplony-Heckel, Verzeichnis, 96 (Nr. 278) nennt allgemein die griechisch-römische Epoche bzw. das 4. Jh. v. Chr. bis 2. Jh. n.Chr. als Abfassungszeitraum.
