Im Wb IV, 568 ist šdḥ mit der Bedeutung „ein dem Wein verwandtes Getränk“, „auch als Opfer für Tote und Götter“ aufgeführt. Lesko, Dictionary of late Egyptian II, 2002, 141 übersetzt „pomegranate wine (?)“, Hannig, Lexica I, 2015, 913 desgleichen „*Granat-apfelwein“. Zum šdḥ-Getränk s. jetzt ausführlich Tallet, in: BIFAO 95, 1995, 459-492. Danach ist šdḥ die Bezeichnung für einen Wein besonderer Qualität. Das Wort ist in den Deir el Medine-Texten auch noch in O DeM 434 rto II,5 belegt (nach Gutgesell, Datierung, 274 zweite Hälfte der 20. Dynastie); unter den Krugaufschriften findet es sich nicht. Die Belege in Lesko, Dictionary of late Egyptian stammen alle nicht aus Deir el-Medine. Das vorliegende Ostrakon ist damit der erste ramessidische Beleg für eine Gefäßaufschrift für šdḥ-Wein; die übrigen Belege stammen alle aus der 18. Dynastie, vorzugsweise aus Amarna, s. Tallet, in: BIFAO 95, 1995, 459-492.
