  • oder: Schöpfe die Überredungsarbeit (?) vor Kraft/Gewalt(anwendung) aus.

    - pnq m rʾ-mdw: auf der Lederrolle BM 10258 ist pnq m rʾ [...] erhalten (die Textsynopse von Fischer-Elfert ist zu korrigieren; siehe das Photo), auf pTurin CGT 54016 steht [...] m rʾ md.t. Geht man davon aus, daß die Lederrolle eine zuverlässige Handschrift ist, dann dürfte dies die ursprüngliche Lesung sein und man muß ein Substantiv rʾ-mdw oder rʾ-md.t ansetzen, das hier versuchsweise mit "Redearbeit" oder "das Raisonnieren" übersetzt wird. Quack, in: BiOr 57, 2000, 538 erwägt, pnq als Imperativ zu übersetzen (vgl. dazu die Anmerkung zu § 1,7).
    - ḫpš: 2 Handschriften haben ḫpš mit Personendeterm.; ein ḫpš: "der Kräftige" gibt es jedoch nicht (die Berufsbedeutung in Wb. III, 270.11 ist falsch: siehe Gardiner, AEO I, 97*, Nr. 228; Kitchen, in: OrAnt, 8, 1969, 192, Anm. 16 kennt auch kein weiteres Beispiel, weshalb er "mighty man" mit einem Fragezeichen versieht), nur ein ḫpš.y: "Schwertträger" (Wb. III, 270, 7). Deshalb ist eine Übersetzung "Wer mit Überredungsarbeit (?) ausschöpft (?), kommt vor dem, der Gewalt anwendet" fraglich.
