Comments
  • - qr: The meaning of the verb qr, spelled without determinative, is unknown, but the phrase is very likely a parallel to phrases like n s:ḏw(=j) zj n ḥqꜣ (stela of Heny, Pushkin Museum I.i.a. 1137 a, b, line 3). Janssen, Traditioneele autobiografie, II, 192 suggests the verb is derived from qrr: "to burn, brand, fire" and means "to blacken". Lichtheim folgt Janssen: "I blackened (?) no man to his master". Hannig, Ägyptisches Wörterbuch. II. Mittleres Reich und Zweite Zwischenzeit, Bd. II, 2527 {48990} setzt auf der Grundlage unseres Textes ein Lemma qr: "demütigen(?)" an. Vgl. auch n ḏws=(j) z n ḥr.j-tp=f: "Ich habe niemanden bei seinem Vorgesetzten verleumdet" auf Stele BM 558, Zl. 5.
    - ḏꜥr is erroneously written with the horned viper hieroglyph instead of the intended flattened cobra (sign I9A) (as suggested by Lichtheim, Autobiographies, 109, note 4).
    - n ḏꜥr: Lichtheim übersetzt n mit "in order to seek favor". Janssen, TEA, II, 192, der keine Übersetzung anbieten konnte, vermutete, daß die Wasserlinie n für die Negation stehen könnte, wie bei n qr=j.
