  • Zur Frage, inwiefern Datteln bei der Zubereitung von Bier Verwendung fanden, s. D. Samuel, in: P.T. Nicholson, I. Shaw, Ancient Egyptian Materials and Technology, Cambridge 2000, S. 549-550 und 556-557. Er vermisste Dattelkerne in der Nähe von Brauereien und vermutete, dass mit bnr im Zusammenhang mit der Bierherstellung auch ein Malz gemeint sein könnte, dessen Geschmack Datteln ähnelte.
