- Es ist unklar, was gemeint ist. Erman las noch ḫsf nṯr n štꜣ und Sethe, Erläuterungen, 62 faßte ḫsf n als Synonym von ḫsf ḥr: "verteidigen" auf. Mit Faulkner wird nṯr.w statt nṯr n gelesen und dann wird die Bedeutung "verteidigen o.ä." nicht zutreffen.
- Auch die Bedeutung von štꜣ ist mehrdeutig. Die Interpretation "geheime Gedanken" geht auf Sethe, Erläuterungen, 62 zurück.
- nḏm ist entweder Adjektiv und Prädikat im Adjektivalsatz mit ḫsf nṯr.w ... als Subjekt oder Subjunktiv des Adjektivverbs mit ḫsf nṯr.w ... als Subjekt.

- Scharff: "Möchte doch (irgendein) Gott eintreten für meine geheimsten Wünsche" (er liest noch nḏm ḫsf nṯr n štꜣ ẖ.t=j);
- Wilson: "Pleasant would be the defense of a god for the secrets of my body";

- Lohmann: "Süß wird das den Göttern Entgegentreten des Verborgenen meines Leibes" (mit 216, Anm. 47: der Verborgene ist vermutlich der Ba, der für den Mann beim Totengericht eintritt; man erwartet aber zumindest nḏm ḫsf nṯr.w 〈jn〉 štꜣ ẖ.t=j).
