Der von Barta, S. 9 und Jäger, S. 163 angegebene Optativ ergibt sich nur aus dem Kontext. Grammatisch liegt eine indikativische Aussage vor (vgl. auch T.G.H. James, The Hekanakhte Papers and other Early Middle Kingdom Documents; New York 1962 (PMMA 19), S. 121).

ḥḥ: Der Schreiber hat statt des Gottes mit erhobenen Armen und der Jahresrispe auf dem Kopf (Gardiner C11) den sitzenden Gott (Gardiner A40) geschrieben. Aufgrund der zahlreichen Parallelen (Posener, Tf. 3) ist aber klar, dass entsprechend emendiert werden muss.

ꜥnḫ ḥḥ n sp: Hayes, S. 8 übersetzt ꜥnḫ als aktivisches Partizip: "Thy condition is as (that of) one who (truly) lives - a million [...] times (be it said)!" Seine Übersetzung basiert auf A.H. Gardiner, K. Sethe, Egyptian Letters to the Dead. Mainly from the Old and Middle Kingdoms; London 1928, S. 1 und 13, die ḥḥ n sp als für den Leser gedachten Wiederholungsvermerk deuten. Kaplony, S. 179 versteht ꜥnḫ ebenfalls als substantiviertes Partizip, schließt ḥḥ n sp aber attributiv daran an: "Möge dein Zustand sein von einem (Mann), der Millionen Male lebt." So übersetzt auch Wente, S. 15: "Your condition is that of one who lives innumerable times." Zur Übersetzung als substantiviertes Partizip siehe auch Wb III 318, 13. T.G.H. James, The Hekanakhte Papers and other Early Middle Kingdom Documents; New York 1962 (PMMA 19), S. 120-122 deutet ꜥnḫ dagegen als Infinitiv und übersetzt: "Your condition is living a million times."

Die stark verderbte Version oDra Abu el-Naga hierat 5 fügt nach ḥḥ fälschlicherweise (Dittographie und Verwechslung von Zeichen?) noch ein n=s ein (Burkard, S. 41 und die Diskussion auf S. 45).
