  • qnqn: Lichtheim hält dies für eine Fehlschreibung des Verbs wnm: "essen" (vgl. die Graphie qq): "See, the serfs eat beef" (Ancient Egyptian Literature, I, 157 und 162, Anm. 21). Auch Quack (E-Mail vom 09.06.2013) versteht qnqn als "essen": "There is no attestation of qnqn 'to strike' with the preposition m, and the Kom Ombo passage (de Morgan, KO I, 131, Nr. 172.7) is actually a parallel to the Book of the Fayum where I have already demonstrated that the text is to be understood as 'to eat' (Quack, in: LingAeg 5, 1997, 239, Nr. 14: Determinative Zahn + Mann mit Hand am Mund). There is a crystal-clear attestation of qnqn with the determinative of the striking man being used for 'to eat' in pRhind I 7h2."
