  • Die extrem hohe Nilschwemme verhindert also auch, dass die Erde schnell austrocknet und die obere fruchtbare Schicht aus feinstem Nilschlamm durch die Südwinde, den gefürchteten heißen sehr trockenen Chamsin, weg geweht werden. Der Chamsin entsteht nach der Tagundnachtgleiche (19.-21.März oder 22.-24.Sept.) in einem Zeitraum von 50 Tagen und wütet ca. 3-4 Tage. Im September bis November fällt er damit in die Saatzeit.
