Yeivin, in: JPOS 14, 1934, 197 mit Anm. 18 las ⸢n nꜣ n⸣ Mtn, übersetzte aber: „the miserable fallen one [of] Mitanni“; Yeivin lehnte die Präposition m an dieser Stelle ab, weil der Feind seiner Meinung nach nicht mehr in Mitanni verweilte, sondern geflohen war; doch ist die Annahme sinnvoll, dass der König sich in Regionen Mitannis jenseits des Euphrat versteckte, die Thutmosis noch nicht betreten hatte. Die Korrektur von Yeivin wurde übernommen von Shirun-Grumach, in: Egyptological Studies, 137, 138 mit Anm. 86; ihre Übersetzung „(auf der Suche nach) jenem Feind, dem Elenden jener von Mitanni“.
