  • - Vgl. die Übersetzung von Smith / Smith, Texts, 59: "If he thinks to dally {he} 〈in〉 (his residence?, then shall his eyes fill?) with weeping". Da die Ergänzung der Lücken aber nur geraten ist, werden sie hier nur in der Übersetzung ausgefüllt. Bresciani, Letteratura, 247 fasst diese ganze Passage als Protasis eines Konditionalsatzes auf, der mit dem nächsten Satz hier weitergeht: "Quando [li avrò vinti,] la terra intera ..."
