  • - grḥ n sḏr.t: The sḏr.(y)t ceremony is usually translated as "putting to rest" (i.e. burial) of Osiris; Lichtheim sees in it the vigil for him (Lichtheim 1988, passim). It seems that the ritual was a complex one and spanned the (symbolic) burial and resurrection of the god and the accompanying activities (cf. the sytematic overview of the available evidency by Lavier, in: Schoske [Hg.] Akten des Vierten Internationalen Ägyptologen Kongresses München 1985, SAK Beihefte 3, 1989, 289-295), thus Lichtheim's "vigil" seems to be the preferable solution.
    Der Übersetzung von Lichtheim nach zu urteilen, versteht sie die Präposition m vor sḏr.yt als erklärendes m: "nämlich". Auf Stele BM 573 und Stele Louvre C3 fehlt die Präposition im gleichen Satz.
