- smnḫ.w.n jqr=f ḏd=f: Edel (1971, 14) proposes: "one whom his excellence and speech exalted" or "exalted by his excellence, namely his speech". I am taking the smnḫ.n as a relative form with jqr=f as subject and ḏd=f as object, reflecting the stress on rhetorical abilities that is so prominent in the biographies of this time (e.g. Djefaihapi); cf. also Junge, Die Lehre des Ptahhotep und die Tugenden der ägyptischen Welt (OBO 193), Fribourg and Göttingen 2003, 137-139 and Hutto, Ancient Egyptian Rhetoric in the Old and Middle Kingdom, in: Rhetorica 20, 2002, 213-233, esp. 223-226.
- ḏd=f: Heute weitestgehend zerstört, aber noch von Budge, in: PSBA 10, 1888, 35 kopiert.
