  • La lecture de ce toponyme est problématique. Le terme associe généralement les déterminatifs de l'eau et de la ville (O49). Dans le chapitre 163 on retrouve le signe O46 et celui de la maison. On peut ainsi se demander s'il ne faudrait pas privilégier une lecture n Jp.t et comprendre "l'Ipet de Nubie", comme le suggère également deux papyrus datant de la 26ème dynastie (P. Marseille 291 et P. Cologne Aeg 10207) qui omettent le n. Il pourrait ainsi s'agir de la description du principal temple d'Amon au Gebel Barkal (B500). Cette seconde hypothèse s'accorde bien avec les déterminatifs qui suggèrent plutôt une construction particulière qu'une ville. Il est également possible que les scribes aient joué avec une forme d'ambiguïté.
