(my) father Osiris, because My Majesty sends you trusting that you will do everything to please the heart of My Majesty, (and) because it is as a pupil of My Majesty that you were brought (i.e. entrusted with the task).

  • - jsṯ jri̯=k oder jrr=k: das Verb ist hier und in Zl. 10 (jri̯/jrr.k(wj)) mit dem phonetischen Komplement r geschrieben, in Zl. 5 (jb=j nḫt m jri̯=k) und Zl. 13 (ḫft jri̯=k) ohne. Beim Pseudopartizip (Zl. 10) wäre eine Geminierung allerdings ungewöhnlich.
    - m šs mꜣꜥ: Schäfer und ÄIB lesen m šz mꜣꜥ{.t} mit t und Ideogrammstrich unter dem undeutlichen mꜣꜥ. Sethe, Lesestücke, 70.19 liest den Arm ꜥ statt t und Ideogrammstrich.
    - s[ḥtp]: Schäfer vermerkt, daß das obere Zeichen nur schwer ḥtp sein kann. Sethe, Erläuterungen, 105 vermutet "als Wohlthat smnḫ? für Osiris" (so auch Buchberger 1993, 350: "(meinem) Vater Osiris Gutes zu erweisen (s:mnḫ)"). Gegen smnḫ spricht, daß es in Zl. 10 mit n als phonetischem Komplement geschrieben wird und daß die unteren Zeichen eher zu t und p gehören, als zum mnḫ-Meißel.
    - js: Nominal embedding by means of the particle js (Schenkel, Tübinger Einführung, 1997, 284).
    - sbꜣ,tj: Schäfer, 13, Sethe, Erläuterungen, 105 and Buchberger 1993, 350, read sbꜣ.t "instruction": "dass du in die Lehre meiner Majestät gebracht worden bist" (Buchberger). Im nächsten Satz lesen sie das gleich Geschriebene als sbꜣ.t(j) wꜥ. Auf Wb-Zettel DZA 29.096.860 wird sbꜣ.t als "Erziehung" übersetzt, aber der Beleg ist unter Wb. IV, 86.13, d.h. unter sbꜣ.tj: "Zögling" eingeordnet.
