    jw bw-pwy=st stꜣ: Zur Vorvergangenheit vgl. J. Cerny, S.I. Groll, A Late Egyptian Grammar; Rome, 3. Auflage, 1984, S. 178 und F. Junge, Einführung in die Grammatik des Neuägyptischen; Wiesbaden, 2. Auflage, 1999, S. 162. Auch inhaltlich erscheint dies sinnvoll, da es praktikabler erscheint, erst ein Licht vor Anubis zu entzünden und ihm dann die Hände zu reinigen als umgekehrt.

    bši̯: Ältere Übersetzungen gingen davon aus, dass mit dem Verb gemeint ist, dass Anubis' Frau sich erbricht, um weitere Verletzungen vorzuspielen. Laut E. Rowinska, J.K. Winnicki; in: GM 134, 1993, S. 85-89 (dem folgte Wettengel, S. 90) ist jedoch eher gemeint, dass sie zur Glaubhaftmachung ihrer Verletzungen Bata verflucht, über ihn schimpft und im Zuge dessen eben auch ausspuckt.
